The Tauranga Writers Story
Tauranga Writers provides ongoing support for writers looking to get started and move towards publication. Established in 1967, the club operates as New Zealand’s longest-running self-help group for writers and follows the mantra ‘Writers write!’ Two meetings are held each month, giving members regular opportunities to focus on their writing in a practical setting. The emphasis is on consistent effort and shared encouragement to help participants develop their work.
Our Home Ground
The club meets in Tauranga South. The first meeting of the month takes place on the first Thursday from 7-9pm at the Wesley Community Centre, 100 Thirteenth Avenue, Tauranga. The second meeting occurs on the second Sunday from 2-4pm at the Greerton Library Heremanuhiri Room, 135 Greerton Road, Greerton. Both venues are straightforward to reach for those in the Tauranga area, and the sessions are open to the public.
