Tamatoa Dolphins welcomes children aged 10 to 13 who are interested in marine activities and personal growth. As a junior group attached to a Navy Cadet Unit, it provides a structured yet approachable environment where young people can develop practical skills and confidence. The marine-based curriculum focuses on life skills, personal development, leadership, seamanship, navigation, boatwork and water safety, all delivered through engaging sessions that suit a range of abilities.

Our Home Ground

Located in Petone, Lower Hutt, Wellington, the group benefits from easy access to local waterways and community facilities. This setting supports regular water-based activities such as kayaking and swimming during summer months, while also allowing convenient visits to nearby emergency services. The Petone location makes it straightforward for families in the wider Wellington region to participate in a consistent programme.
