The Menzshed Nelson Whakatū Story
New members can expect a friendly workshop environment where men gather to share skills, work on projects and build connections. Established in 2014 as an amalgamation of the Nelson and Whakatū groups, Menzshed Nelson Whakatū follows the men's shed movement by focusing on fellowship, practical skills and community projects. The group provides a relaxed setting where participants can learn from one another, contribute to local initiatives and enjoy regular social interaction in a workshop atmosphere.
Our Home Ground
Menzshed Nelson Whakatū is located in The Wood, Nelson, at Founders Heritage Park. This setting offers easy access for those in the Nelson region looking to join weekly sessions. The park location supports a community-focused environment suited to hands-on activities and group projects.
Getting Involved at Menzshed Nelson Whakatū
Weekly open shed sessions run on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the year, with additional Wednesdays available during summer. Members can attend from 8am to 1pm, while visitors and the public are welcome from 10am to 1pm. This schedule allows flexibility for those wanting to drop in and see what the group offers.
