What to Expect at Balclutha Bridge Club

At Balclutha Bridge Club, members enjoy the benefits of a dedicated space for playing bridge, a popular card game that fosters strategy, social interaction, and mental sharpness. As an incorporated society affiliated with NZ Bridge, we provide a supportive environment where you can participate in regular sessions using the Scorer computerised program for accurate scoring. Results from our games are posted on both NZ Bridge and Bridge NZ sites, keeping everyone connected and informed. The annual subscription offers excellent value at just $80, making it accessible for hobbyists and special interest players alike.

We're always eager to welcome new members to grow our club. If you're keen to learn or improve, free Acol bridge lessons are available on Thursday evenings at 7:00pm in our clubrooms—simply turn up or contact Jane Whitmore on 027 415 7124 for more details. All are welcome, regardless of experience level. For those without a partner, reach out to Marion Smith on 027 380 3121 to find a suitable match. Practice nights and learner lessons both take place on Thursday nights at 7:00pm, providing ample opportunity to build confidence and enjoy the game in a friendly setting.

The Balclutha Bridge Clubrooms are conveniently located at 9 Crown Street, Balclutha 9230, in the Otago region's Clutha district. This spot is easy to reach by turning north/west off the Main Street into George or Elizabeth Streets, then crossing over Charlotte Street— you'll find Crown Street at the very end. Our rooms are positioned on the main highway side of the street, making it straightforward for locals and visitors from surrounding areas to drop in.
